ART LAB X is a platform for research and practice that connects the scholarly inquiry of X-Cultural Studies with the field of art.

X-Cultural Studies takes as its scholarly foundation the Science of Feelings, which apprehends the nature of feeling itself, and inquires into the human being and the world through the ‘self-understanding of feeling’ — feeling together with an adequate cognition of that feeling. ART LAB X observes, analyzes, and practices this scholarly orientation in the field of art.

Culture is the expression of feeling and the story that narrates human life, and art is a principal way in which such feeling and culture come into view within concrete forms and spaces. ART LAB X does not confine art to an object of appreciation; it regards works, exhibitions, spaces, and the experience of viewing as objects of research.

We observe art museums and national museums, exhibitions and works at first hand, and analyze how human feeling and culture are expressed and experienced within them. The questions and research found in the field develop into curating, creation, and exhibition planning, and are finally realized as a single act of artistic practice.

ART LAB X 是将文化交叉学的学术探究与艺术现场相连接的研究与实践平台。

文化交叉学（X-Cultural Studies）以认识情感自身本性的感情科学（Science of Feelings）为学术基础，通过情感以及作为对情感之恰当认识的“情感的自我理解”，探究人与世界。ART LAB X 则在艺术现场对这一学术取向加以观察、分析与实践。

文化是情感的表现，也是叙述人类生活的故事；而艺术，则是这样的情感与文化在具体的形式与空间之中得以显现的重要方式。ART LAB X 不将艺术局限为单纯的欣赏对象，而是把作品、展览、空间与观看经验视为研究的对象。

我们亲身观察美术馆与博物馆、展览与作品，分析人类的情感与文化在其中如何被表现、被经验。在现场发现的提问与研究，将发展为策展、创作与展览企划，并最终实现为一次艺术实践。
