우리는 무엇을 배우는가
문화교차학과는 감정 그 자체의 본성을 인식하는 감정과학(Science of Feelings)을 학문적 기초로 삼습니다. 인간의 감정은 문화와 예술, 심리와 사회, 치유를 이해하는 출발점이며, 문화교차학은 감정 자체의 본성을 향한 타당한 인식으로서의 감정의 자기 이해를 통해 인간과 세계를 탐구합니다.
이 학문적 기초 위에서 문화·예술·심리·사회·치유를 서로 분리된 영역이 아니라 인간의 감정이 다양한 방식으로 표현되고 관계 맺으며 확장되는 현상으로 연구합니다. 이 전공 체계는 학과의 대표 연구·실천 프로그램인 PROJECT X가 공유하는 학문적 토대이기도 합니다.

예술학박사 (PhD in Arts)
감정과 문화가 예술적 형식과 공간 속에서 어떻게 표현되고 경험되는지를 탐구합니다.
감정과학을 바탕으로 인간의 감정·행동·관계를 다양한 사회와 문화 체계 속에서 탐구합니다.
한국 문화와 한류가 서로 다른 문화와 교차하며 세계적으로 수용되고 확장되는 과정과 그 문화적·감정적 원리를 탐구합니다.
누구나 시작할 수 있는 학문
문화교차학은 특정한 학문적 배경을 요구하지 않습니다. 학문의 출발점은 선행 지식의 양이 아니라, 감정 자체의 본성을 이해하고자 하는 질문과 탐구의 의지에 있기 때문입니다.
전공이 달라도, 나이가 달라도, 살아온 삶이 달라도 — 인간의 감정과 그 본성을 이해하고자 한다면 누구나 이 학문을 시작할 수 있습니다.
문화교차학은 감정 자체의 본성을 향한 타당한 인식으로서의 감정의 자기 이해를 통해 인간과 세계에 대한 이해로 나아갑니다.
2년 4학기 수료 과정
본 학과는 2년 4학기 과정으로 운영됩니다. 학생의 준비 상태에 따라 두 가지 트랙이 가능합니다.
- 4학기 수료 후 논문 시작
- 충분한 연구 축적 후 예비심사
→학문의 깊이를 충분히 확보하고자 하는 경우에 적합합니다.
- 3학기부터 예비심사 가능
- 논문 조기 진행 및 졸업
→준비가 되어 있는 경우, 빠른 연구 완성이 가능합니다.
가장 중요한 기준은 단 하나입니다. 학과는 이를 기준으로 학생 각자의 속도와 방향을 존중합니다.
함께 뛰는 학과
문화교차학과는 단순한 교육 기관이 아닙니다. 학과와 지도교수는 학생의 연구가 완성될 때까지 옆에서 함께 뛰며, 끝까지 돕습니다.
What You Will Study
X-Cultural Studies takes the Science of Feelings — the study of the nature of feeling itself — as its academic foundation. Human feeling is the starting point for understanding culture, art, psychology, society, and healing, and X-Cultural Studies explores humanity and the world through the self-understanding of feeling as a valid understanding directed toward the nature of feeling itself.
From this foundation, culture, art, psychology, society, and healing are studied not as isolated domains, but as phenomena in which human feeling is expressed, related, and extended in different ways. This disciplinary framework is also the shared academic foundation of the department's flagship research-and-practice program, PROJECT X.
Examines the nature of feeling itself and the structure of valid understanding of feeling.
Examines how feeling and culture are expressed and experienced through artistic form and space.
Grounded in the Science of Feelings, examines human feeling, behavior, and relationships across diverse social and cultural systems.
Examines how Korean culture and the Korean Wave intersect with different cultures, become globally received, and expand through cultural and affective processes.
A Discipline Without Prerequisites
X-Cultural Studies requires no specific academic background. Its starting point is not the amount of prior knowledge one possesses, but the questions and willingness to inquire into the nature of feeling itself.
Regardless of your field, your age, or the path you have taken — anyone who seeks to understand human feeling and its nature can begin this discipline.
X-Cultural Studies advances toward an understanding of humanity and the world through the self-understanding of feeling as a valid understanding directed toward the nature of feeling itself.
Two-Year, Four-Semester Curriculum
The program runs for two years over four semesters. Depending on your readiness, two paths are available.
- Begin thesis after completing all four semesters
- Preliminary review follows sustained research
→Ideal for those who wish to build deep scholarly foundations before writing.
- Preliminary review available from the third semester
- Early thesis completion and graduation
→For those who arrive well-prepared and wish to complete research efficiently.
This is the one and only criterion that matters. The department respects each student's individual pace and direction accordingly.

文化交叉学系以认识情感本身之本性的情感科学（Science of Feelings）为学术基础。人的情感是理解文化、艺术、心理、社会与治愈的出发点；文化交叉学通过作为对情感本身之本性的正当认识的“情感的自我理解”，探究人类与世界。
在这一学术基础上，文化、艺术、心理、社会与治愈并非彼此分离的领域，而是人的情感以不同方式被表达、建立关系并不断扩展的现象。这一专业体系也是本学系代表性研究与实践项目 PROJECT X 所共享的学术基础。
探究情感本身的本性，以及对情感进行正当认识的结构。
探究情感与文化如何在艺术形式与空间中被表达并被体验。
以情感科学为基础，在不同社会与文化体系中探究人的情感、行为与关系。
探究韩国文化与韩流在与不同文化交叉的过程中如何被全球接受与扩展，以及其中的文化与情感原理。
人人皆可入学的学问
文化交叉学不要求特定的学术背景。学问的起点不在于已有知识的多少，而在于理解情感本身之本性的提问与探究意志。
无论专业背景、年龄、人生经历如何，只要希望理解人的情感及其本性，任何人都可以开始这门学问。
文化交叉学通过作为对情感本身之本性的正当认识的“情感的自我理解”，进一步走向对人类与世界的理解。
两年四学期修业制
本学系实行两年四学期制，根据学生的准备程度，提供以下两种学习路径。
- 完成四学期后正式开始撰写论文
- 充分积累研究成果后进行预备审查
→适合希望充分奠定学术根基再着手论文的学生。
- 第三学期起即可申请预备审查
- 提前推进论文并提早毕业
→适合已有充分准备、希望高效完成研究的学生。
唯一的标准就是这一点。学系尊重每位学生各自的节奏与方向。
